Women’s Soccer’s Chyanne Dennis Signs with Iceland’s Afturelding FC
TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 24, 2022 – Former University of South Florida women's soccer student-athlete
Chyanne Dennis continues her soccer career after finishing her collegiate career in 2021, signing with Iceland's Afturelding FC.
Chyanne Dennis was a five-year starter on South Florida's defensive line prior to her graduation in 2021. The Sunrise, Fla., native ultimately played in 86 games during her time wearing green and gold, second on the program's all-time list while making 77 starts, tied for third on the career list.
Dennis anchored USF's defensive effort that stifled opposing offenses in her five years with the team. She played a role in 38 shutouts and helped limit USF's opponents to less than 10 shots and five shots on goal per game.
The Jamaican National Team member also aided USF's pursuit during five trips to the NCAA tournament and six American Athletic Conference titles, including the tournament title in 2017, 2019 and 2020, as well as the regular season championship in 2018, 2020 and 2021.
Dennis will join the team in February following work with the Jamaican National Team. Afturelding FC plays in the top division of women's soccer in Iceland after earning promotion to the league by finishing second in the second division in 2021.
