TAMPA (Jan. 28, 2022) – The University of South Florida women's tennis team hits the road for the second-straight weekend, for back-to-back matches, to close out its season-opening four-match road stretch. The Bulls (1-1) will travel to Memphis, Tenn. for dual matches against Atlantic 10 Conference member Xavier, on Saturday at 11 a.m. and then against host – and fellow American Athletic Conference foe – Memphis on Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Eldon Roark Tennis Center.

South Florida looks to get back on the winning track after recording a 1-1 record last week. The Bulls posted a dominating 7-0 win at Florida A&M on Jan. 23, before falling to No. 20-ranked Florida in Gainesville.

Xavier comes into its match with South Florida with a 2-2 record following consecutive losses at Purdue (7-0) on Jan. 22 and at Memphis (5-2) on Friday. The Musketeers opened the season 2-0 defeating Northern Kentucky (6-1) on Jan. 14 and Dayton (5-2) on Jan. 15.

The Tigers are 4-1 on the year, defeating North Alabama twice, 7-0, on Jan. 14, before shitting our Central Arkansas (7-0) on Jan. 16. Memphis fell to Mississippi State (4-1) before its win over Xavier on Friday.

Following its trip to Memphis this weekend, the Bulls will return to the Varsity Tennis Courts for their home opener on Feb. 4 against North Florida, beginning a season-long eight-match homestand.
