USF Cross Country Travels to Oklahoma for AAC Championships
Tampa, Fla., October 27, 2022 – The University of South Florida cross country men and women's teams head to Tulsa, Okla., to start off the 2022 American Athletic Conference Championships.
There are 11 participating collegiate teams competing in both the women's 6K event, which begins at 9:15 a.m. and the men's 8K race, starting at 10:00 a.m.
The race will be live streamed on
ESPN+.

Erik Jenkins. "We look forward to each individuals' quality effort this Friday at the AAC Championship."

Marissa Hagenbarth (Valrico, Fla.),
Cora Kolodge (Fair Haven, Mich.),
Kelly Lynch (Wilmington, Del.),
Alyssa Wyatt (Jacksonville, Fla.) will all be wearing the Green and Gold for the women's team.
Meanwhile,
Jesse Benavides (Jacksonville, Fla.),
Sebastian Edwards (Celebration, Fla.),
Tyler Engleman (Severna Park, Md.),
Ben Kailes (Jacksonville, Fla.),
Nickolas Kamen (Naples, Fla.),
Cason Meyer (Lutz, Fla.),
Tyler Wadsworth (Port Charlotte, Fla.), and
Julian Yescas (Miami, Fla.) will all be representing the USF' men's cross-country team on Friday.
Following the AAC Championships on Friday, the Bulls head to Huntsville, Ala., for the NCAA South Regional competitions scheduled for Nov. 11.
About USF Cross Country
The USF Cross Country team has earned 2 All-America selections, Christina Benton in 2002 and Gray Mavhera in 1994. The Bulls have advanced to the NCAA Cross Country Championships seven times in program history, three times for the men and four times for the women. The USF men's team have won seven team conference championships and the women have won five team championships. Head coach Erik Jenkins took over the program in 2019and during his tenure the Bulls posted twelve program records and 106 top 10 all-time program marks. USF hosted the 2018 NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary and the 2021 AAC Outdoor Championship at the USF Track and Field Stadium, as well as the 2022 AAC Country Cross Country Championship at Holloway Park.
