USF Cross Country set to race NCAA South Regionals in Alabama
Tampa, Fla., November 10, 2022 – The University of South Florida cross country men and women's teams head to Huntsville, Ala., to compete in the 2022 NCAA South Regionals.
There are 39 participating collegiate teams competing in the women's 6K event, which begins at 8:30 a.m. and 34 teams participating in the men's 10K race, starting at 9:30 a.m.

Chloe Byrd (Seoul, South Korea),
Aleecia Collins (Punta Gorda, Fla.),
Marissa Hagenbarth (Valrico, Fla.), Cora Kolodge (Fair Haven, Mich.),
Kelly Lynch (Wilmington, Del.) and Alyssa Wyatt (Jacksonville, Fla.) will all be wearing the Green and Gold for the women's team.
Meanwhile, Jesse Benavides (Jacksonville, Fla.),
Sebastian Edwards (Celebration, Fla.),
Ben Kailes (Jacksonville, Fla.),
Nickolas Kamen (Naples, Fla.), Tyler Wadsworth (Port Charlotte, Fla.), and Julian Yescas (Miami, Fla.) will all be representing the USF' men's cross-country team on Friday.
The top two teams and four individuals automatically qualify to Stillwater, Okla., for the NCAA Championship competitions scheduled for Nov. 19.
About USF Cross Country
The USF Cross Country team has earned 2 All-America selections, Christina Benton in 2002 and Gray Mavhera in 1994. The Bulls have advanced to the NCAA Cross Country Championships seven times in program history, three times for the men and four times for the women. The USF men's team have won seven team conference championships and the women have won five team championships. Head coach Erik Jenkins took over the program in 2019and during his tenure the Bulls posted twelve program records and 106 top 10 all-time program marks. USF hosted the 2018 NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary and the 2021 AAC Outdoor Championship at the USF Track and Field Stadium, as well as the 2022 AAC Country Cross Country Championship at Holloway Park.
