TAMPA (Feb. 4, 2022) – The University of South Florida women's tennis team opened their home schedule for the 2022 season Friday afternoon, falling to North Florida 5-2 at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts.

In their first home doubles action of the season, the Bulls' claimed the doubles point by taking all three matches from the Ospreys. The Bulls' No. 3 doubles team of
Kiana Mokhtari and
Laura Pellicer got South Florida off to a fast start, winning 6-3, followed by
Alexandria Mjos and
Margriet Timmermans winning on court two, 6-3. Moments later,
Sierra Berry and
Amelie Boy wrapped up doubles play with a 6-4 win on court one.

Sierra Berry got the Bulls' only singles win of the day with a hard-fought 7-5, 6-2 victory on court two.
Alexandria Mjos led after one set, however fell in three sets on court five, 6-3, 6-7, 4-6.

The Bulls will continue their eight-match homestand on Sunday, Feb. 13 at noon when SMU visits the USF Varsity Tennis Courts.
