Bulls Continue to Lead Pack at Scarlet and White Invitational
Tampa, Fla., Feb. 5, 2022 – The University of South Florida track and field team finished a two-meet weekend with a successful showing at the Scarlet and White Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

"We just completed two meets in one weekend with some positive results," head coach
Erik Jenkins said. "Today we saw a few more event champions and several individuals achieve personal or season best."

Three Bulls won their events on the day.
Alliya Boothe (Bloomfield, Conn.) posted a personal-best throw of 13.64 meters (44-09) in the shot put to win the competition, while
Kendell Mosley (Niceville, Fla.) won the high jump with a 2.06-meter (6-09) mark, also a personal-best which moved him up to sole possession of seventh on the program's all-time list.

Stone Baker (New Port Richey, Fla.), meanwhile, won the pole vault with a season-best 5.20-meter jump, with
Kobe Babin (Niceville, Fla.) taking second with a 4.95-meter mark.

Both
Hannah Connell (Bridgetown, Barbados) and
Zahria Allers-Liburd (Miami, Fla.) posted personal bests in the women's 200 meters, running 24.59 and 24.61, respectively. Connell moved up to seventh on the program's all-time list, while Allers-Liburd advanced to eighth.

Connell placed first in her heat second overall in the 60-meter hurdles prelims, running an 8.61.
Victor Steiner (La Libertao, El Salvador) also won his heat, then placed fourth overall in the event with an 8.30 in the finals.

Tyler Dunigan (Sarasota, Fla.) and
Danelson Mahautiere (Roseau, Dominica) qualified for the finals in the 60 meters, placing second and third in pelims with times of 6.99 and 7.00, respectively. Both runners won their heats in the process.

The Bulls return to action on Feb. 11 at the Badgers Windy City Invite in Chicago, Ill.

About USF Track and Field
The USF track and field team has earned 53 All-America selections and at least one All-American in 10 of the last 12 years, including a record eight athletes claiming 11 honors in 2021. Tampa native Shaniya Benjamin set a program record earning three All-American honors during the 2021 outdoor season, while triple jumper Matthew O'Neal, a 2016 graduate, became USF's first six-time NCAA All-American. Bulls have posted two NCAA runner-up finishes since 2013 - O'Neal (triple jump, 2016) and Courtney Anderson (high jump, 2013). Head coach Erik Jenkins took over the program in 2020 and in the 2021 outdoor season the Bulls posted seven program records and 40 top 10 all-time program marks. USF hosted the 2018 NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary and the 2021 AAC Outdoor Championship at the USF Track and Field Stadium located on the east end of campus.
