TAMPA (March 1, 2022) – The University of South Florida men's tennis team wraps up their home schedule this weekend with a two-match homestand against No. 49 VCU on Friday (1:30 p.m.) and No. 50 Cornell on Sunday (11 a.m.)  at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts. Â

Friday and Sunday's matches will mark the second-straight weekend that the Bulls have faced teams in the Top 50. Last weekend, the Green and Gold traveled to Texas to face then No. 2 TCU and No. 42 SMU. The Horned Frogs jumped to No. 1 in the nation in this week's ITA national rankings.

South Florida's doubles are highlighted by the duo of
Bruno Oliveira and
Rithvik Bollipalli, who come into the weekend as the No. 9-ranked doubles tandem in the nation in the latest ITA rankings. Playing at No. 1 for the Bulls this season, the pair is 8-3 on court one, having won their last eight-straight matches.

Sergio Gomez Montesa and
Alvin Tudorica have also logged eight wins as a duo, going 8-5 on court three this season.

In singles, Tudorica will look to continue his dominant season as the Bulls' big gun, posting a 10-2 record, including a perfect 9-0 record on court four (2-0) and court five (7-0) coming into the weekend.

In addition, Gomez Montesa is 9-4 on the year, going 5-4 on court four and a perfect 2-0 on courts three and five, respectively.

Scouting No. 49 VCU
The Rams enter their match against the Bulls with a 9-6 record and on a two-match winning streak which includes a 4-2 win over No. 19 Arizona.

Matisse Bobichon is 10-2 on the year, going a perfect 6-0 on court four (1-0) and court five (5-0). In addition, Charles Bertimon and Inigo Torre Martin are both 9-5 on the year, with Bertimon 7-5 on court one and Torre Martin 7-4 on court three.

In doubles play, the brother combination of Bertimon and Maxence Bertimon has been dominant, posting a 10-3 record, including an 8-3 mark on court one.

The Big Red enter their match against the Bulls on a three-match winning streak and an 11-3 record on the year.
