TAMPA, March 24, 2022 – The University of South Florida softball team begins American Athletic Conference play this weekend with a three-game series against Central Florida. The set wraps up a 23-game homestand for the Bulls.

Recapping the Week
The Bulls are coming off a set of nine games in seven days, finishing the week with a 6-3 record and a 28-7 record overall. The Bulls earned key wins against Ohio State and Purdue, while also defeating Canisius twice, Lehigh and Niagara.

Dominance in the Circle
Senior pitcher Georgina Corrick continues to be lights-out for South Florida this season in the circle. She's posted a 22-1 record with a 0.14 ERA. Her 13 shutouts and 229 strikeouts both rank first in the country, while the second-place pitcher in both of those categories rank six shutouts and 70 strikeouts behind her, respectively.

Overall, the South Florida staff has been successful this season, leading the nation in shutouts with 18 while also holding the 10th best staff ERA (1.54) in the country and the sixth-best strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.63).

She's a runner, She's a track star
Alexis Johns leads the country with 31 stolen bases so far this season. She's only seven away from tying the single-season record set last season by AnaMarie Bruni. While only being at USF for two seasons, she's nearing the No. 10 spot on USF's all-time stolen bases list.

Hot Bats
Vivian Ponn, Josie Foreman and Madison Epperson have swung three of the hottest bats on the team in recent games. Together, the trio has gone 24-for-65 (.369) with 10 doubles, five home runs and 21 RBIs.
