USF Men's Tennis Standout Alvin Tudorica Named AAC POW
TAMPA (March 29, 2022) – University of South Florida men's tennis standout
Alvin Tudorica has been named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week ending March 27, the conference announced Tuesday.

A sophomore from Toronto, Canada, Tudorica posted a 4-0 record last week, going 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles while helping the Bulls to a 1-1 week. The Green and Gold fell to No. 49 VCU (4-3) and defeated No. 50 Cornell (4-2). In doing so, Tudorica extended his winning streak to 11-straight matches with the wins over the Rams and Big Red.

Against VCU, the Canadian native teamed up with
Sergio Gomez Montesa to defeat the Rams in doubles, 6-3, before handing his opponent a 6-3, 6-3, loss for the Bulls' first singles win of the dual.

Tudorica also had a hand in two-straight points for South Florida against Cornell clinching the doubles point, with Gomez Montesa, with a 6-4 victory. He then secured the first singles point of the day against the Big Red, 6-0, 6-4, to put the Bulls up, 2-0.

On the year, Tudorica boasts a 12-2 record in singles, going 9-0 on court five and 2-0 on court four. He also has a win on court six.

In doubles play, Tudorica has combined with Gomez Montesa for a team-high 10 wins (10-5), all coming on court three.

South Florida is back in action on Friday at 2 p.m. ET when it travels to New Orleans to face Tulane.
