USF Men's Tennis Standout Ivan Yatsuk Named AAC POW
TAMPA (April 12, 2022) – University of South Florida men's tennis standout
Ivan Yatsuk has been named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week ending April 10, the conference announced Tuesday.
A junior from Minsk, Belarus, Yatsuk won two key singles matches against American Athletic Conference opponents and won his only completed doubles match of the week to lead No. 51 South Florida past No. 75 Wichita State (7-0) and No. 40 Tulsa (4-3). He played at No. 1 singles against the Shockers and claimed a 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 win, while he was a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 winner at No. 2 singles against Tulsa. Yatsuk also was a 6-3 winner at No. 2 doubles against Wichita State to clinch the doubles point.
On the year, Yatsuk is 8-10 in singles, going 4-3 on court two and 1-1 on court three. He also has three wins on court one.
In doubles play, Yatsuk has combined with
Chase Ferguson to record a 4-2 record with all six matches coming on court two.
South Florida closes out its 2022 regular-season campaign on Friday at 1:30 when the Bulls travel to Orlando to face Central Florida in the War on I-4.
