No. 40 USF Men’s Tennis Travels East to Butt Heads with No. 46 Central Florida in War on I-4

TAMPA (April 15, 2022) – The University of South Florida men's tennis team closes out its 2022 regular season on Saturday as it travels east on Interstate 4 to face No. 46 Central Florida in the War on I-4. First serve at the USTA National Tennis Campus is slated for 5 p.m.
 
The Bulls, currently amid their longest winning streak of the season, four games, look for their fifth-straight victory. The Green and Gold are 10-4 in their last 14 matches after starting the season 2-5.
 
Alvin Tudorica continues to be on fire, bringing a 14-match winning streak – 10-0 in his last 10 outings – into Saturday's meeting with the Knights. Tudorica is 15-2 on the year including a perfect 14-0 on courts four (5-0) and five (9-0). Antonio Muniz isn't far behind in the win column, with a 12-8 record and a winner of his last four straight. He has logged a 10-6 record in court three.  
 
Also, Sergio Gomez Montesa has posted an 11-7 record. He comes in 2-0 on court three and 4-1 on court five, while Ivan Yatsuk has won three consecutive matches and looks to level his season record at 10-10 this weekend against Central Florida. Yatsuk is 5-3 on court two this season.
 
In doubles, the duo of Rithvik Bollipalli and Bruno Oliveira come into the weekend ranked No. 36 in the latest ITA national rankings holding a 9-7 record with all 16 matches coming on court one.
 
Gomez Montesa and Tudorica have paired up all season and boast a 13-5 record, all on court three. They currently hold a team-best five-match doubles winning streak.  
 
Yatsuk and Chase Ferguson are 4-2 this season on court two and have won three straight.
 
Scouting No. 46 Central Florida
Despite its No. 46 ranking, Central Florida comes into the weekend against the Bulls with an 8-13 record and a 3-4 mark in its last seven matches.
 
Alan Rubio leads the Knights in wins this season, posting a 10-8 record, including a 6-1 mark on court four. Trey Hilderbrand, currently ranked No. 90 in the ITA singles rankings, is 4-1 on court four and holds a 6-10 overall record on the year.
