TAMPA (April 18, 2022) – The University of South Florida women's tennis team is seeded ninth in this week's American Athletic Conference Tournament and will face eighth-seeded Temple on Wednesday at 1 p.m. ET at the University of Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

"Our team knows that we are capable of playing higher than our seed and that will be put to the test against a tough Temple team on Wednesday," said Moros. "In the post season, anything can happen and our team needs to maintain that belief that we belong when the moment arises. The post season is my favorite time of year and I know our team will leave everything out there for the program."

The Bulls, who are seeded ninth for the first time in the AAC Tournament, won the title in 2014 as a three-seed over top-seeded Houston, 4-2, and then again in 2017 as a seven-seed over the No. 1-seed Tulsa, 4-2.

South Florida is 12-5 all-time in the event.

Entering the postseason, the Bulls have been led in singles by Sierra Berry and Grace Schumacher with nine and eight wins, respectively on the year. Berry is 9-9 overall and 7-6 on court two, while Schumacher is 8-7 on courts one (6-6) and two (2-1). Schumacher has won her last two matches and is 4-2 in her last six outings.

Laura Pellicer is 7-6 overall, boasting a team-best three-match winning streak, with a 7-4 mark on court three.

In doubles Schumacher and teammate Margriet Timmermans have logged seven wins with all coming on court two. Berry and Amelie Boy have also recorded six wins on court one.

Scouting Temple
The Owls enter the tournament with an 11-5 record and are winners of five of their last six matches. Temple had its five-match winning streak snapped on April 17 with a 6-1 loss at AAC Tournament host Tulsa. The Owls' two matches leading up to their meeting with the Golden Hurricane, April 9 against Hofstra and April 16 at Oklahoma State were canceled.
