TAMPA (August 26, 2022) – With the 2022-23 academic and athletic school year underway, University of South Florida Vice President of Athletics Michael Kelly has announced numerous staffing changes and promotions. Multiple departments will see changes and additions to their staff as USF continues to provide an unparalleled student-athlete experience.
"We have some bold goals and these personnel moves position us well for success for the upcoming year and beyond," Kelly said. "We are grateful for all of our talented and loyal members of Team USF."
Administration
Kris Pierce's title will change to Chief Operating Officer to be more reflective of her responsibility to manage the day-to-day operations of the department. She will also assume the permanent role of Senior Woman Administrator for the department.
Lee Butler's title will change to include the Chief Diversity Officer designation to be indicative of his responsibility to oversee the department's diversity and inclusion efforts.
Jodie Libadisos will move into a new role as Senior Associate Athletic Director of Administration, reporting to Kris Pierce. Libadisos will oversee Title IX efforts, including serving as the Athletic Department's Title IX Officer for reporting of sexual misconduct and/or harassment and for ensuring gender equity compliance with Title IX. She will continue to oversee the sports of cross country, track and field and volleyball, and will add the sport of beach volleyball. In addition to these duties, Libadisos will assist Pierce with strategic planning and she will develop two important new programs for the department – the sport administrator academy and the secondary sport administrator program.
Jonathan Gibson's title will change to Chief of Staff to be more reflective of his responsibility to carry out special projects and to ensure accountability on all projects throughout the entire department on behalf of the Athletic Director.
Bulls Club
BJ Daniels and Lindsay Brauer will now oversee the Bulls Varsity Club. Daniels, a former NFL quarterback and standout on the gridiron at South Florida, joined the Bulls Club staff in June as the Assistant Director of Development-Community and Donor Engagement. Brauer was a former student-athlete herself, playing for the women's soccer team and earning Big East honors both on the pitch and in the classroom.
Business Office
Dana Rommel has been promoted Director of Business Operations to reflect her growing responsibilities and oversight within the business office.
Event Management
Holden Reinman has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director/Event Management as his duties have grown in the oversight and management of the event management unit.
External
John Cobb has been promoted to Assistant Director/Content Production to more accurately reflect his duties in creating video content for the department.
Allasyn Lieneck has been promoted to Content Manager/Graphic Designer to more accurately reflect her management of our growing content needs. Conner Greene has been promoted to Senior Graphic Designer to more accurately reflect his role in the digital department.
Human Resources
Domenica Jones will join the staff on September 16 as the Associate Athletic Director of Human Resources. She will oversee the HR unit and will also help develop a new partnership with Central Human Resources to prove expedited service to athletics. Jones comes from Texas Tech University where she was Assistant Athletic Director for Human Resources. She has also spent time in HR working at the University of Colorado and FAU, and was the Athletics Chief of Staff at Washington State University from 2018-2020.
Gail Cotton has been promoted to Director of Athletics Human Resources to more accurately reflect her role in facilitating University and department hiring processes.
Student-Athlete Enhancement
Carlton Rice will now oversee and manage the Student-Athlete Enhancement unit with the assistance of Isis Lowery and Skyylar Muehleisen.
About USF Athletics
USF Athletics currently sponsors 19 varsity men's and women's teams that compete in 11 different sports, 18 at the NCAA Division I level in the American Athletic Conference, which will expand to 21 teams with the recently announced additions of women's lacrosse (2023-24) and women's beach volleyball (2024-25). The Bulls' athletic program began in 1965 and completed its 55th season in 2020-21. Nearly 450 student-athletes train and compete in the athletic district located on the east end of the campus in Tampa, Fla. The Bulls have claimed 26 American Athletic Conference team titles since joining the conference in 2013, including seven trophies in the 2021 calendar year, and own 136 conference titles in department history. The Bulls have posted a combined annual grade-point average over 3.0 for seven straight years and have posted a program-record 14 straight semesters with a combined GPA over 3.0 as of the fall of 2021. USF has had over 500 student-athletes earn their degree since 2016-17.
