Spengler Nets Brace In Bulls 2-1 Victory Against UAB

TAMPA, Fla., October 21, 2023 – South Florida men's soccer (5-7-1, 2-3-1 AAC) defeated UAB (0-10-4, 0-6-1), 2-1, on Thursday night at Corbett Stadium in Tampa, Fla.
Fifteen minutes into the action, Ajmeer Spengler struck first for the Bulls, with the assist coming from Jalen Anderson. Nearly nine minutes went by before UAB's Gustavo Barbosa equalized the contest.
NOTABLE NUMBERS
South Florida heads to Memphis for a road clash with the Tigers on Friday (Oct. 27). Kickoff is slated for 8:00 p.m. ET and the match can be streamed live on ESPN+.

The program also has a strong reputation within the professional game and boasts 30 MLS draft picks. Notable alumni include two-time MLS Golden Boot winner Jeff Cunningham, USA 1994 World Cup star Roy Wegerle, and 2013 MLS Cup winner Dom Dwyer. Men's Soccer has two Alumni in the USF Athletics Hall of Fame: Fergus Hopper and Dan Holcomb, with Jeff Attinella joining as part of the 2023 class.
The Bulls have reached the NCAA Tournament 13 times over the past 22 seasons.
