Blasigh Has Career Day As Bulls Edge Ospreys, 56-55


Tampa, Fla. Nov. 19, 2023 – Freshman guard Vittoria Blasigh (27 points) had a career day in South Florida women's basketball's 56-55 win against North Florida on Sunday afternoon inside the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Fla.
 
Blasigh also reset her personal-best mark in 3-pointers with seven on the day. The freshman has scored in double-figures in four of the last five contests, along with a pair of 20-plus point games so far this year. Redshirt junior forward Romi Levy added eight points in the contest, which marked her third game of eight or more points this campaign. Redshirt senior guard Aerial Wilson matched a season-best eight assists.
 
The visiting Osprey's had a pair of performers finish the night in double figures. Led by Jayla Adams (18 points) and Lyric Swann (10 points).

NOTABLE NUMBERS
  • The Bulls remain undefeated in the all-time series against UNF, and USF has now won nine straight contests.
  • Blasigh scored 23 points in the first half, the most points a Bull has scored in a half this season.
  • Senior forward Evelien Lutje Schipholt (two blocks) has recorded one or more blocks in four of the last five games.

South Florida heads to the Virgin Islands to partake in the Paradise Jam in St. Thomas. The Bulls will face High Point (Thursday, Nov. 23), Arizona State (Friday, Nov. 24), and Texas (Saturday, Nov. 25) in the tournament. All games can be streamed on ESPN+.

In 2022-23, the Bulls had four players recognized by The American for impressive seasons, including Elena Tsineke (AAC Co-Player of the Year, All-Conference First Team), Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu (AAC Co-Player of the Year, All-Conference First Team), Sammie Puisis (AAC Newcomer of the Year, All-Conference Second Team) and Carla Brito (AAC All-Freshman Team).
