Valentina Bosselmann, Annabel Collis, Cherry Marley, will come to Tampa as freshman in Fall 2024.
TAMPA, FLA., November 9, 2023 – University of South Florida women's golf head coach Erika Brennan has announced the signings of Valentina Bosselmann, Annabel Collis and Cherry Marley for the 2024-25 freshman class.
Valentina Bosselmann (Brazil) is a two-time Brazilian Amateur Champion and two-time Brazilian Junior Champion. She had six wins in Brazil in 2023.
"Boss is a battle-tested athlete who plays big on the big stages," said Brennan. "She will elevate our program, both in her contributions on the course, but also in her vocal leadership. She's all-in for the Green and Gold and her impact will be felt immediately. She's incredibly articulate and is always analyzing her game to get 1% better. She's mentally tough and we're amped she's a Bull."
Bosselmann, ranked 253 in WAGR, represented Brazil at the 2023 PanAm Games in Chile and finished in 16th place in the First Tee Miami Doral Junior Classic. "I chose USF because of the family atmosphere, which is very important to me," she said.
Annabel Collis (Wales) is the 2023 Welsh Girls Strokeplay Champion, 2023 Welsh Girls Match Play Champion and six-time Welsh International Champion.
"Annabel is a gamer and consistently shows up when the lights come on," said Brennan. "Her game is so solid from tee to green and she's going to impact our program from the start. Her sense of humor will also be a welcome asset to our team culture – she's got this great knack for lifting others up while also being highly competitive between the ropes. She's a Bull through and through and we can't wait for her to join us in paradise."
Collis finished seventh in the 2022 Welsh Women's Open and represented Wales in World Junior Girls in Canada in 2022/23. She was runner-up two years in a row in the Welsh Women's Amateur, was a member of the Welsh National Team and finished in eighth place in the 2023 Scottish Girls Open. "USF is a great opportunity, team, and coaches," said Collis. "I like the ethos and spirit of the team which has a very positive, supportive, and inspiring atmosphere."
Cherry Marley (England) has posted Top 10 finishes in the English Women's Stroke Play Championship and R&A British Girl's Championship.
"Cherry has this quiet confidence about her that's really special," said Coach Brennan. "She's a fierce competitor, but she is also one of the kindest humans. When Coach Stevens and I got to watch her play in the British Girls Championship, it was immediately evident that there were no weak links in her game. She's going to make noise as a Bull from day one and we're thrilled she chose USF."
Marley finished in the Top 20 at the English Women's U25 Championship and third in the English Schools National Championship. She was a member of the winning England team in the England vs. Wales Schools event and was the Yorkshire Championship runner-up. "I chose USF for several reasons," said Marley. "There is a great spirit and work ethic within the team which I am super excited to be a part of. USF has amazing coaches and facilities, all set in a gorgeous location, and I feel that this is a perfect combination to progress my golf and take it to the next level whilst gaining a first-class education!"
