TAMPA (Feb. 12, 2023) – The University of South Florida women's tennis team played its second game of back-to-back matches on Sunday, falling to FGCU 4-2.
In doubles, South Florida's duo of
Grace Schumacher and
Margriet Timmermans picked up where they left off on Saturday, taking court one, 6-1. However, the Bulls were unable to defeat FGCU on courts two and three, conceding the doubles point to the Eagles.
In singles, USF's
Sierra Berry defeated FGCU's Fanny Norin 6-3, 7-6 on court two. This improved Berry's singles record to a perfect 4-0 in the season.
After securing the game winning point for USF on Saturday,
Cliona Walsh carried that momentum with her to a 6-2, 6-1 win on court five on Sunday afternoon.
The Bulls couldn't crack the Eagles on any of the other single's courts, ultimately falling on courts one, three, and four to decide the match.
