TAMPA, FLA., March 10, 2023 – The USF men's golf team will compete over spring break at the Ross Collegiate Classic tournament in Pinehurst, North Carolina, March 13-14.
The tournament will be played at Mid Pines Golf Club (Par-72, 6,713 Yards). Teams will begin play Monday and conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday. Both rounds will have an 8 a.m. shot gun start.
USF will compete in an 18-team field with: George Mason, George Washington, Loyola MD, Elon, Towson, Old Dominion, Loyola Chicago, William & Mary, Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Bowling Green, Villanova, St. Bonaventure, Miami OH, St. John's, Georgetown, and St. Joe's.
Head Coach Steve Bradley announced the following competitors for the Bulls:
Sam Nicholson (Jr., Atlantic Beach, Fla.), Shubham Jaglan (So., Delhi, India), Chase Gullikson (So., Orlando, Fla.), Jake Peacock (So., Milton, Ga.), Nino Palmquist (Fr., Halmstad, Sweden)
LAST TIME OUT
The Bulls last competed at the Lake Las Vegas Invitational where they tied for ninth in a 15-team field.
USF recorded a total of 19-over par 883 and tied with Kentucky. No. 42.-ranked Little Rock won the tournament with a three-round total of 20-under par 844 on the Reflection Bay Golf Club course (Par-72, 7,20 Yards).
The Bulls were led by Shubham Jaglan (So., Delhi, India) who posted rounds of 70, 73 and 73 for an even-par total of 216 good for a tie for 18th. Chase Gullikson (So., Orlando, Fla.) finished tied for 28th at 2-over par, 218 after posting an opening round of 70, his best score of the 2022-23 season.
About USF Men's Golf
The USF men's golf program has captured 17 conference titles and has seen players earn 19 All-America honors. The Bulls have won five American Athletic Conference Tournament championships in wire-to-wire fashion, winning four-consecutive from 2015-18. The Bulls have had four individual conference champions, including Albin Bergstrom in 2021, and gone on to earn nine straight NCAA Regional appearances, including a 6th place finish in NCAA Championship match-play in 2015. USF is led by Steve Bradley, who has been named American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year five times since taking over the program in 2014. The Bulls have posted 20 tournament wins under Bradley entering the 2022-23 season, by far the most under any coach in program history.
