- Why did you decide to attend the University of South Florida?
I decided to attend USF since the engineering program is well established as well as for the opportunity to compete athletically in college. The warm year-round temperatures in Tampa and the proximity to home were also decisive factors.
- What has been the best aspect of being part of South Florida's Track & Field teams so far?
Being able to be a part of a team that is all pushing each other to reach our goals.
- What has been the biggest challenge you have come across since your arrival at USF?
Adjusting to the increased workload in college has been challenging but it is manageable with efficient time management.
- What has surprised you the most about the University of South Florida?
The diversity on campus has surprised me. I have met tons of other international students.
- What do you do away from practice and studying to relax?
I like to spend time with friends.

I enjoy going to Flatwoods trails for practice.

Tampa native Shaniya Benjamin set a program record earning three All-American honors during the 2021 outdoor season, while triple jumper Matthew O'Neal, a 2016 graduate, became USF's first six-time NCAA All-American. Bulls have posted two NCAA runner-up finishes since 2013 - O'Neal (triple jump, 2016) and Courtney Anderson (high jump, 2013). Head coach Erik Jenkins took over the program in 2020 and in the 2021 outdoor season the Bulls posted seven program records and 40 top 10 all-time program marks. USF hosted the 2018 NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary and the 2021 AAC Outdoor Championship at the USF Track and Field Stadium located on the east end of campus.Â
