TAMPA, Fla. (October 27, 2024) – The University of South Florida beach volleyball team completed a successful two-day run at the Bulls Beach Bash Invitational at McDugald Park. The tournament featured New College of Florida, Florida Gulf Coast University, Florida International University, Palm Beach Atlantic University, Saint Leo University, and the University of Tampa, providing strong performances across pool play and playoff matches. 
 
Pair one, Isabella Almeida and Alyx Zapatka, finished 1-1 in their pool 2 event, securing second place in their pool, and accumulating three match wins over the weekend. Pair two, Ryann Genest and Sasha Pasloski, also finished 1-1 in pool 6 and earned three total match victories. Both pairs advanced to the playoff bracket, where Genest and Pasloski delivered notable wins against Saint Leo's Pair two and three. 
 
Up next, the Bulls will travel to Tavares, Florida, for the AVCA Beach Pairs Qualifier, scheduled for Nov. 2-3. The tournament offers South Florida the chance to earn a bid to the AVCA Beach Pairs National Championship, held from Nov. 15-17 in Huntsville, Alabama. 

In addition to the competitive action, fans enjoyed a great atmosphere at the tournament, which included autograph sessions with the team and food choices from local food trucks Kebablicious and KC's Quesadillas.

USF Athletics currently sponsors 19 varsity men's and women's teams that compete in 11 different sports, 18 at the NCAA Division I level in the American Athletic Conference, which will expand to 21 teams with the recently announced additions of women's lacrosse (2024-25) and women's beach volleyball (2025-26). While USF beach volleyball will compete in an exhibition style season, this season will not count toward sport sponsorship, with varsity status officially beginning in the 2025-26 academic year. USF has claimed 74 men's conference championships and 64 women's titles, led by 14 in women's tennis and 12 in volleyball. The Bulls have posted a combined annual grade-point average over 3.0 for more than eight straight years and have posted a program record of 17 straight semesters with a combined GPA over 3.0 as of the spring of 2023.
