USF Women’s Basketball Drops Close Battle To No. 25/22 Louisville, 64-60

Orlando, Fla. – Nov. 24, 2024 – South Florida women's basketball (4-3) dropped a closely contested battle, 64-60, to No. 25/22 Louisville (4-2) at the 2024 WBCA State Farm Showcase in the State Farm Field House on Sunday afternoon.
Sophomore guard Vittoria Blasigh led all scorers with 19 points while knocking down five 3-pointers and a trio of steals. Blasigh has put up double-digits in three games so far this season. Junior forward Carla Brito (11 points, 10 rebounds) collared her first double-double of the season and the fifth of her career. Graduate guard Sammie Puisis (10 points) rounded out the trio of Bulls who finished in double-digit points.
The Cardinals were led by Olivia Cochran and Imari Berry, who had 13 points apiece.
HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED
In the last 90 seconds of the third frame, redshirt senior guard Romi Levy made a layup and Blasigh collected her 4th 3-pointer of the night to trim USF's deficit to seven points, 53-46. Through the first eight minutes of the final frame, South Florida strung together a 13-5 run, which was closed by Puisis on a jumper that gave the Bulls a 1-point advantage, 59-58. USF was unable to hang on in the final 54 seconds of action, as Louisville converted a layup and made two trips to the charity stripe, 64-60.
