TAMPA, Fla. (November 3) — The University of South Florida Beach Volleyball team showcased performances in the AVCA Beach Pairs Qualifier this past weekend in Tavares, Florida. Competing against a field of nine teams, including programs from across the state, USF's three pairs competed in a two-day event.
Representing the Bulls were pairs Samantha Crosby and Audrey Gauthier (Pair One), Morgan Anderson and Aleksandra Stadnik (Pair Two), and Isabella Almeida and Alyx Zapatka (Pair Three). The tournament included teams from Florida Atlantic University, University of North Florida, Florida State University, Stetson University, Florida International University, Jacksonville University, University of Tampa, and Florida Gulf Coast University.
Pair One – Samantha Crosby and Audrey Gauthier – finished with two wins over the weekend. Competing in Pool 3, the pair captured a key victory against FIU, rallying to win set two with a score of 24 and securing the match with 15 points in the third set. The duo also faced a match against FSU, concluding their weekend with a 1-1 record in pool play.
Pair Two – Morgan Anderson and Aleksandra Stadnik – maintained a balanced 2-2 record across both days. The pair matched up against teams from FSU, FAU, and Jacksonville, with their biggest win coming against Florida Atlantic (21-11, 21-15).
Pair Three – Isabella Almeida and Alyx Zapatka – contributed to the Bulls' strong showing with a straight-set win over the University of Tampa, taking set one with 21 points and closing the match in set two with another score of 21.

USF Athletics currently sponsors 19 varsity men's and women's teams that compete in 11 different sports, 18 at the NCAA Division I level in the American Athletic Conference, which will expand to 21 teams with the recently announced additions of women's lacrosse (2024-25) and women's beach volleyball (2025-26). USF has claimed 74 men's conference championships and 64 women's titles, led by 14 in women's tennis and 12 in volleyball. The Bulls have posted a combined annual grade-point average over 3.0 for more than eight straight years and have posted a program record of 17 straight semesters with a combined GPA over 3.0 as of the spring of 2023.
