USF Women’s Basketball Resets Program Attendance Record In 62-43 Win Against Merrimack On Education Day

Tampa, Fla. –Dec. 5, 2024 – South Florida women's Basketball (5-5) topped Merrimack (4-3), 62-43 on Education Day in the Yuengling Center on Thursday afternoon.
 
USF hosted a record-breaking crowd of 9,821 Bulls fans, resetting its home attendance record and is the second-highest home regular season women's basketball game in the state of Florida on record.
 
Sophomore guard Vittoria Blasigh (13 points) and junior forward Carla Brito (11 points) were the pair of USF performers to finish the day with double-digit points.
 
Paloma Garcia led the visiting Warriors with 11 points.
 
HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED
Midway through the third frame, the Bulls pieced together a 15-2 scoring run and Brito led the way with seven points within the stretch. Graduate guard Mama Dembele also contributed four points in the run as USF cruised to victory.
