Bulls Stampede Wichita State, 79-57

Tampa, Fla. -  Feb. 13, 2024 – Redshirt junior Romi Levy led all scorers with 28 points and eight rebounds in South Florida women's basketball's 79-57 win against Wichita State (7-18, 3-10) on Wednesday night at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Fla.
 
Sophomore forward Daniela Gonzalez (13 points) joined Levy as the second Bull to finish the night with double-digit points. Levy has collected seven 20-plus point performances this season and Gonzalez notched her fourth double-figure performance of the season. Senior guard Aerial Wilson dished out a game-high seven assists.
 
HOW THE GAME WAS DEICED
The Bulls (15-11, 7-6 AAC) strung together a massive 31-6 run throughout the first frame and nearly two minutes into the second quarter. USF knocked down 11 field goals during that time, shooting over fifty percent from the floor. Levy, now averaging 19.5 points in conference contests, had almost half of the Bulls points with 14 in the run. The lead grew to 40-11 and was 45-20 at the break.
 
Down the stretch, USF's lead ballooned as high as 35 points. The Bulls went on an unanswered eight-point run with a minute to go in the third quarter, which was capped off by a 3-pointer from Gonzalez making it 66-31. 

Evelien Lutje Schipholt and Carla Brito had exactly eight points and seven rebounds each as the Bulls were outrebounding Wichita 46-28. L'or Mputu also scored eight off the bench.

  • South Florida holds an 8-3 all-time record against Wichita State and is undefeated (4-0) at home against the Shockers.
