No. 66 USF defeated at No. 44 UCF

No. 40 Alvin Tudorica & Erik Grevelius improved to 7-3 in doubles play.

TAMPA (February 16, 2024) – The No. 66-ranked University of South Florida men's tennis team (5-7) suffered a 4-0 setback to No. 44 UCF (9-1) on Friday. No. 40 Alvin Tudorica & Erik Grevelius tallied the Bulls' lone win during the contest and improved to 7-3 in doubles play.

Tudorica and Grevelius were 6-3 winners on Court 1 and USF was narrowly edged for the team point as Court 2 was decided in a 7-6 (8-6) tiebreaker.

UCF went on to claim the match with singles wins on Court 5, 6 and 4. In their respective singles matches that went unfinished, Tudorica (Court 1) and Grevelius (Court 2) were each playing in their third and deciding sets.

Up Next

The Bulls return home for back-to-back matches with Penn State (March 6) and Middle Tennessee (March 7). The homestand begins on Wednesday, March 6 at 1:30 p.m.
