TULSA, Okla. (April 17, 2024) – The University of South Florida Bulls (9-16) begin play in the 2024 American Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Championship on Thursday, April 18 against the UAB Blazers (12-10). The match is for 2:00 p.m. ET at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The Men's AAC Championship is hosted by Tulsa.
South Florida is the No. 8 seed in the tournament and UAB is the No. 9 seed. The winner will advance to play No. 1 seed and No. 32-nationally ranked Memphis on Friday, April 19 at 3 p.m. ET.
Seeds for the championships are determined by the ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings through matches of Monday, April 15.
USF hosted and defeated UAB, 4-1, in Tampa on March 12. The Bulls dropped a tight 4-3 decision to Memphis at home on February 16.
Tom Pisane, Elijah Cham, Agustin Cuellar and Ben Hudson each tallied singles wins against UAB last month.
Senior Alvin Tudorica enters the tournament ranked No. 71 in singles competition. He and teammate Erik Grevelius are ranked No. 36 in doubles play. Tudorica has posted a 12-9 record on Court 1 this season while Tudorica/Grevelius own a 14-6 record on Doubles Court 1.

Head coach Ashley Fisher is in his eighth year at the helm of the program for the 2023-24 season. Fischer has guided the Bulls to four NCAA Tournaments, including three trips to the second round. He was named the American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2017 & 2019 after leading USF to the conference title in each of those seasons.
