Tampa, Fla. April 25, 2024 – The University of South Florida track and field travels Thursday to Jacksonville, Fla. for the East Coast Relays at the University of North Florida. The Bulls will have a split squad this weekend, traveling most sprinters and hurdlers to the Penn Relays and the remaining roster to the East Coast Relays.
This is the final regular season meet before the AAC Outdoor track and field Championship, so most of the team will participate in events as preparation.
The men's team is currently ranked 10
th in the nation, and the only non-power-five conference team to be in the top-25 rankings. Multiple athletes with marks that contributed towards that ranking will be in action at UNF this weekend.
Goodness Iredia just won the AAC's male field athlete of the week this week after jumping the NCAA's 10
th-best triple jump distance at the Mt. SAC Relays (15.93m / 52' – 3.75"). Iredia will compete in the long jump at 4:00 p.m. Friday and the triple jump at 1:00 p.m. Saturday.
Kobe Babin has the 12
th-ranked clearance in Division I NCAA this season (5.40m / 17' – 8.50") and will be competing in the men's pole vault invite on Friday at 4:00 p.m.
Vincent Ugwoke has the nation's 15
th-best discus toss (59.76m / 196' – 1.00") and will be competing in the shot put Friday at 4:00 p.m. and discus Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
Darian Mills has the 45
th-best 400m hurdles time in the NCAA (51.37) and will look to top that time on Friday (time of event is TBD). Mills will also race in the 110m hurdles Saturday at 1:55 p.m.

UP NEXT
The regular season is over and after a week off, the Bulls will have all hands on deck for the AAC Outdoor Championship May 10-12 in San Antonio, Texas.

The USF track and field men's team won the 2024 Indoor AAC Championship. Romaine Beckford won the 2023 NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships in the men's high jump as a Bull. The team has earned 56 All-America selections and at least one All-American in 10 of the last 12 years, including a record eight athletes claiming 11 honors in 2021. Tampa native Shaniya Benjamin set a program record earning three All-American honors during the 2021 outdoor season, while triple jumper Matthew O'Neal, a 2016 graduate, became USF's first six-time NCAA All-American. Bulls have posted two NCAA runner-up finishes since 2013 - O'Neal (triple jump, 2016) and Courtney Anderson (high jump, 2013). Head coach Erik Jenkins took over the program in 2020 and in the 2021 outdoor season the Bulls posted seven program records and 40 top 10 all-time program marks. USF hosted the 2018 NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary and the 2021 AAC Outdoor Championship at the USF Track and Field Stadium located on the east end of campus.
