September 17, 2024

JACKSONVILLE (September 17, 2024)Eden Nykamp represented the University of South Florida sailing team in the opening event of the 2024-25 season with a second-place finish at the SAISA Women's Singlehanded Championships.

The unique event requires sailors bring their own boats and sail by themselves, one per boat rather than in pairs, which is the traditional format throughout the season.

Nykamp finished second out of nine total competitors at the event. The top finisher receives an automatic berth to the National Championships, but Nykamp will receive an opportunity to possibly qualify for a berth at Nationals as well based on review by a selection committee.
