Bulls Stunned By Blazers, 62-61

Tampa, Fla. – Jan. 14, 2025 – South Florida women's basketball (11-8, 4-2 AAC) was stunned, 62-61, by UAB (12-6, 3-3 AAC) in the Yuengling Center on Tuesday night.
Junior forward Carla Brito led all scorers with a season-high 21 points and 12 rebounds, in her third double-double of the campaign. Sophomore guard Vittoria Blasigh (18 points) collared her 10th double-digit scoring game of the season and connected on four of USF's five 3-pointers. Senior forward L'or Mputu (10 points) notched her 6th double-figure performance of the season and rounded out the Bulls in double-digit points.
UABs' Journey Armstead (16 points) and Eleecia Carter (16 points) combined for 32 of the Blazers 62 points. Jade Weathersby (14 points, 14 rebounds) also finished the night with a double-double.
HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED
The Bulls used a stout 5-0 run to tie the game at 59-59, all with under two minutes remaining in the contest. Brito connected on a jumper, Levy was fouled on a made basket and executed the three-point play at the free throw line.
UAB's Weathersby then was fouled and made a shot at the line, putting the visitors up one, 60-59, Blazers. Graduate forward Ines Piper then made a layup with 46 tickets remaining, putting the Bulls back on top. Then in the final seconds, Weathersby made a layup in the final seconds to secure the Bulls loss.
