USF Women’s Soccer Drops Road Match Against Rice

Yui Suetsugu scored her second goal of the season.

HOUSTON (October 12, 2025) – The University of South Florida women's soccer team played its second game in the state of Texas on Sunday against the Rice Owls. The Bulls (6-7-1, 2-3-1 American) lost to the Owls (9-2-3, 3-1-3 American) 3-1.
 
The Bulls opened the scoring in the 37th minute with a goal from Yui Suetsugu's right foot. USF kept the 1-0 lead through halftime.
 
Rice scored three goals in the second half. The first came in the 48th minute when Eileen Albers scored, assisted by both Dayo Tennyson and Piper Biziorek. The second goal was in the 66th minute, scored by Sophie Zhang. Finally, Albers scored again in the 82nd minute, assisted by Olivia Duvall.
 
Gaby Rourke started and played the full 90 minutes in goal for the Bulls. She had seven saves on the day.

Next Up

Brown spent 17 years as associate head coach (2007–2023), helping USF to three American Athletic Conference titles, eight NCAA appearances, and a 10-year streak of 10+ win seasons. He coached USF's first All-American, Evelyne Viens, now a Hall of Famer and Olympic gold medalist, and has developed multiple American Athletic Conference award winners. Players under his guidance hold most of the program's records.
