USF Volleyball Head to North Carolina for Two Matches

The Bulls will face East Carolina and Charlotte.

TAMPA, October 23, 2025 – The University of South Florida volleyball team will head to North Carolina for a road trip against East Carolina and Charlotte this Friday and Sunday. The Bulls look to stay on top of the American Conference.
 
Setting The Stage:
The Bulls (11-8, 7-1 American) are coming off two sweeps over Charlotte and Temple last weekend. South Florida is currently in a three-way tie for first place in the conference with Tulsa and Rice. Rice handed the Bulls their lone loss in conference play. The Bulls and Golden Hurricane will face off on October 31 in the Corral.
 
East Carolina (11-9, 3-6 American) is coming off a sweep over Charlotte (15-6, 6-3 American) on Wednesday night.
 
Series History:
South Florida leads the all-time series over East Carolina, 19-9. The Bulls took the first match over the Pirates earlier this season, 3-1, in the Corral. South Florida and Charlotte will have nine days between their first and second meeting of the season. The Bulls lead the all-time series 11-2 and took the first meeting last week with a sweep.
 
Note-A-Bull:
South Florida continues to lead the American in RPI at 41. Rice follows right behind at 42, while Tulsa is at 48. South Florida is currently tied for first in the conference, in competition with Tulsa and Rice. The Bulls took the 2024 American Championship title last year.
 
Imani Hartfield leads the team in blocks with 51, followed by Taelyn Bentley with 37 and Arianna Beckham with 36. Samiha Foster leads the team with 279 digs.

Additional Notes:
Maria Clara Andrade leads the team with 273 kills, followed by Beckham with 170, and Addy Brus with 127. Raegan Richardson leads the team with 29 service aces and 623 assists.

About USF Volleyball
Head coach Jolene Shepardson enters her sixth season at the helm of her alma mater in 2025. Named head coach on January 8, 2020, Shepardson led the Bulls to a conference championship and the program's last NCAA tournament appearance as a student-athlete in 2002. South Florida won the 2024 AAC regular-season title, earning Jolene Shepardson her first Coach of the Year Honor. In 2023, the Bulls won the AAC East Division title, made a postseason appearance in the NIVC, won three matches, and advanced to the Fab Four to mark the longest postseason run in program history. South Florida Volleyball has won eight Player of the Year honors, most recently in Maria Clara Andrade in 2024. The Bulls have also had four Setter of the Year honors, most recently in Caroline Dykes in 2024. South Florida has made seven NCAA Tournament appearances and won 13 conference titles since its inception in 1972. The Bulls play in The Corral (1,000), located adjacent to the Yuengling Center on the USF campus in Tampa.
