IRVING, Texas (October 31, 2025) – The American Conference announced its weekly accolades on Friday. Selma Åström represented the University of South Florida women's soccer team as the American Conference Freshman of the Week.
Gentiana Fetaj received an honorable mention.
Åström has scored in back-to-back matches, with her second collegiate goal on Sunday against UAB and her third on Thursday against FAU. She now has six points on the season.
Gentiana Fetaj scored the match-winning goal with just over a minute to go on Thursday against FAU. This goal and victory clinched the Bulls' spot in the American Conference Tournament starting Monday.
Next Up
South Florida begins play in the American Conference Tournament on Monday, facing the Charlotte 49ers. The match will start at 11 a.m., streaming on ESPN+, and all tournament matches are played in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.

Chris Brown enters his second season as USF head coach after a record-setting debut in 2024, leading the Bulls to 12 wins and coaching both the American Conference Midfielder of the Year and Goalkeeper of the Year. Brown spent 17 years as associate head coach (2007–2023), helping USF to three American Athletic Conference titles, eight NCAA appearances, and a 10-year streak of 10+ win seasons. He coached USF's first All-American, Evelyne Viens, now a Hall of Famer and Olympic gold medalist, and has developed multiple American Athletic Conference award winners. Players under his guidance hold most of the program's records.
