SOUTH FLORIDA TRAVELS FOR ITA REGIONALS

The Bulls will Compete in the Qualifying and Main Draw Rounds.

TAMPA (October 8, 2025)- The University of South Florida's Men's Tennis team will travel to Gainesville, Florida to compete in the ITA Regionals hosted by University of Florida on October 8-13

South Florida is coming off a weekend at the UCF Invitational where they faced UCF, FAU and Stetson. The Bulls delivered some impressive results for the Fall season, recording five doubles wins and ten singles wins. This competition will be the first tournament this fall in which the Bulls bring the entirety of their roster

Ettore Danesi, James Newton, Max Mroz and Timeo Gaillard will be in the Qualifying round. Danesi, the only returning Bull, earned two doubles wins on Court 2 this past weekend, as well as a singles win on Court 5. Newton, a junior transfer from Tennessee, earned a doubles win and a singles win at the invitational. Mroz, a sophomore transfer from Illinois, recorded a doubles win and two singles wins over the week. Max Mroz, a freshman, debuted as a Bull and earned two doubles wins and one singles win

Hugo Car, Toto Llanes, Agustin Cuellar, Elijah Cham, Stepan Mruzek and Gughi Verdese are in the main draw. Car, Llanes, Cuellar, Cham and Verdese all traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma to compete in the ITA All-America Championships earlier in the fall season. Car is coming off a successful weeked with a doubles win and two singles wins. Llanes earned one doubles win and one singles win. Cham earned a singles win, Mruzek earned a doubles win and Verdese wrapped it up for the returners with two singles wins

Head coach Ashley Fisher is in his 10th year at the helm of the program for the 2025-26 season. Fischer has guided the Bulls to five NCAA Tournaments, including three trips to the second round. He was named the American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2017 & 2019 after leading USF to the conference title in each of those seasons.
