USF Men’s Basketball Dominates Coppin State 100-50

Five Bulls in double figures as South Florida closes with its second-largest margin of victory in program history.

Tampa, Fla., Nov. 12, 2025 – The University of South Florida men's basketball team defeated Coppin State University, 100-50, on Wednesday at Yeungling Center, marking the second-largest margin of victory in program history.

Joseph Pinion led the Bulls with a career-high 24 points and six three-point field goals. Wes Enis added 11 points, including three three-pointers. CJ Brown contributed 11 points and four assists. Izaiyah Nelson added his second double-double of the season with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Caleb Sanders chipped in 12 points, including two triples off the bench.

In the first half, South Florida pushed the pace and applied constant pressure on Coppin State. Joseph Pinion led the offense with 21 points, including multiple 3-pointers that kept the momentum on South Florida's side. The Bulls ran an aggressive attack, converting turnovers into points and spreading the floor to create open shots.
Contributions from Wes Enis, CJ Brown, Izaiyah Nelson, and Caleb Sanders helped balance the scoring and keep the offense moving. The half ended 49-23, with the Bulls holding the fifth-largest halftime lead in program history over the Eagles.

In the second half, the Bulls maintained their offensive intensity, scoring efficiently in the paint and via second-chance opportunities. Bench players contributed key minutes and points, helping the team sustain energy and momentum throughout the half. The Bulls continued their streak of forcing at least 18 turnovers and collecting 11 steals each game this season.
South Florida doubled Coppin State, closing the game with a 100-50 victory. The dominant performance showcased the Bulls' depth and efficiency on both ends of the floor, with the team controlling the pace, converting turnovers into points, and finishing strong in the paint.

South Florida men's basketball named Bryan Hodgson, 37, as the program's 12th head coach on March 24, 2025. Hodgson came to Tampa from Arkansas State, where he led the program to back-to-back 20-win seasons and its first postseason appearance since 1999 in his two seasons at the helm.
