USF Volleyball Defeats No. 7 Charlotte to Advance to Semifinals

The Bulls completed the season sweep over Charlotte.

TAMPA. (Nov. 21, 2025) – The No. 2 seed University of South Florida volleyball team delivered when it mattered most, powering past No. 7 Charlotte in a four-set battle to advance to the semifinals of the 2025 American Athletic Conference Tournament inside the Corral. The Bulls took the match 3–1 with scores of 26-24, 25-19, 19-25, and 30-28.

South Florida (17-11, 12-4 American) set the tone early, closing the opening frame on a clutch run to secure a tight 26-24 win before carrying that momentum into a dominant second set. Charlotte (17-12, 8-8 American) responded in the third to extend the match, but USF refused to surrender control, outlasting the 49ers in a marathon fourth set that featured long rallies, multiple lead changes, and high-pressure swings.

Behind one of the team's most balanced offensive performances of the season, the Bulls hit .371 as a group and kept pressure on Charlotte from the service and defensive lines. The fourth set showcased USF's composure, as the Bulls held off multiple set-point opportunities before slamming the door to earn their spot in Saturday's semifinals.
