TAMPA, Fla. (December 21, 2025) –
Carla Brito and
Stefanie Ingram each produced a double-double for the University of South Florida women's basketball team on Sunday against Navy. The Bulls (7-6) had three players finish in double digits in the 86-74 victory over the Midshipmen (6-5) inside the Yuengling Center.
The Bulls improved to 56-5 in nonconference home games. For the fourth straight season, South Florida has won at least six games at home during the nonconference schedule. Brito and Ingram became the first pair of Bulls to record double-doubles in the same game since Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu and Elena Tsineke accomplished it against Houston on January 18, 2023.
Brito produced a season-high 21 points and brought down a season-high 14 rebounds. She recorded her first double-double of the season and the 12th of her career. She added a career-high three blocks, a season-high five assists, and notched one steal. Ingram tallied 18 points and dished out a season-high 10 assists. This was her first double-double of the season and second of her career. She chipped in with six rebounds, one block, and one steal.
Katie Davidson collected her seventh game in double figures with an 18-point effort. She added three rebounds.
L'or Mputu brought down 11 rebounds. It is the second time this season that the Bulls have had two players finish with double-digit rebounds in the same game.
After Navy opened the game on a 5-2 run, South Florida responded with six unanswered points and took an 8-5 lead. The Bulls utilized four different players during the run. Ingram found Brito for a fastbreak layup.
The two sides continued to battle the remainder of the first quarter as the opening stanza ended with the score tied at 17-17.
The Bulls pulled away midway through the second quarter. Bulajic knocked down back-to-back 3-pointers to go along with a 3-pointer from Davidson. Ingram made a tough fadeaway jumper despite being fouled. USF ended the half by making its last four shots from the floor and took a 45-36 lead into the break.
The Mids opened the second half on a 14-5 run and tied the game at 50-50 midway through the third. The Bulls were unfazed and responded with a 12-6 run to close out the third quarter. Piper accounted for six of the 12 points as South Florida took a 64-58 lead into the fourth.
The Bulls started the fourth stanza with a 7-0 run, forcing the Mids to call a timeout with the score 71-58. Davidson accounted for five of the team's seven points. The two sides traded baskets the remainder of the game as USF claimed an 86-74 victory.
Navy was led by Zoe Mesuch, who scored 21 points. Zanai Barnett-Gay finished with 17, while Julianna Almeida had 13. Kate Samson closed out the double-digit scoring with 12 points.
