Bulls Drop Pair of Weekend Matches to FGCU, UCF

TAMPA, FLA. (February 9, 2025) - South Florida women's tennis (1-6) dropped its pair of weekend match-ups, falling to Florida Gulf Coast (4-3) by a score of 4-3 and to UCF (5-0) by a score of 4-0.

On Friday against FGCU, the Bulls fought back in singles action after losing the opening doubles point. Kelly Vargas earned the first point for USF with a win on Court Five (7-5, 7-6 [7-4]). Melisa Senli and Margherita Marcon secured crucial solo victories to tie the match at 3-3. However, the Bulls' Charlotte Ruud dropped the final singles match of the afternoon in a three-set battle.

The Bulls returned home on Sunday afternoon to face in-state rival UCF in the War on I-4. Despite strong battles in the opening set of singles play, South Florida ultimately fell 4-0.
