USF Sailing Sets Course for Phebe Corckran King Team Race
March 01, 2025 | Women's Sailing
TAMPA, Fla (March 1, 2025) – The USF sailing team will set sail with a relatively young squad as they compete in the Phebe Corckran King Women's Team Race, hosted by the College of Charleston on March 1, 2025.
The Bulls will field three pairs for the event: Kailey Warrior (sophomore) sailing with Madisen Hamai (junior), Sara Menesale (freshman) sailing with Heidi Hicks (senior), and Grace Jones sailing with Macy Parke (both freshman). Despite their youth, the team is eager to test their skills against top-tier competition.
With four nationally ranked teams dropping from the event, only the top three SAISA teams—College of Charleston, Jacksonville University, and USF—will take to the water. The event promises to be a competitive battle among the region's best, with forecast conditions calling for strong winds and a challenging current on the racecourse.
"We have a young but determined crew ready to take on the challenge," said Allison Jolly, Head Coach of Women's Sailing. "Sailing against top SAISA teams in tough conditions will be an excellent test of their teamwork, strategy, and adaptability. This is a great opportunity for our sailors to gain valuable experience and continue sharpening their skills as they chart their course forward."
With a competitive field and dynamic racing conditions, the Bulls will look to navigate the challenges ahead and make a strong showing at the prestigious event.
