TAMPA (March 19)- The University of South Florida Men's Tennis team (15-3) defeated Tulsa (9-12) on Wednesday at home. The Bulls, on a six-game win streak, take down the Hurricanes after losing to them in the AAC tournament last year.
South Florida dropped doubles early, losing on Courts 2 and 3 with a clinch. However, the Bulls took every singles court but one.
Toto Llanes finished first on Court 6, with a swift 6-0, 6-4 win.
Agustin Cuellar followed on Court 2, with a 6-1, 6-2 victory. The rest of the courts extended into three sets.
Gughi Verdese finished next with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 triumph on Court 4. No. 48
Hugo Car clinched the match with a big 6-7 (3-7), 6-4, 6-3 win on Court 1.
Elijah Cham added a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory on Court 3. A dropped singles on Court 5 resulted in a 5-2 win for the Bulls.
The Bulls have received top-25 rankings for back-to-back weeks. Car received his first top-50 individual ranking, coming in at No. 48 in singles. Car's record stands at 13-1, with 13 straight singles wins on Court 1. Cuellar remains undefeated in singles with 13 straight wins on Court 2. Cham now has double-digit wins in singles, with a record of 10-5. Verdese is 13-4, on a seven-game win streak.

UP NEXT
The Bulls will continue conference play on Friday, March 21 at noon with a match against the Green Wave. South Florida won in the last match-up between the two, with a score of 4-3. The Bulls are 9-4 against Tulane in match-up history.
