South Florida Faces Top Three Teams in the Nation
TAMPA, Fla (March 22, 2025) – The South Florida men's golf team heads to Palm City, Fla., on Monday, poised to make a statement at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational. The Bulls will play 36 holes Monday beginning at 8am and finish with 18 holes on Tuesday. Coming off a third-place finish along with Shubham Jaglan's first career individual title at the Linger Longer Invitational, the Bulls are set to face 11 of the top-25 teams in the nation.
The 16-team Valspar Collegiate field consists of: Auburn (1), Texas (2), Arizona State (3), Oklahoma (7), North Carolina (8), Florida State (14), Duke (17), Vanderbilt (19), Texas Tech (21), Texas A&M (23), South Florida, Wake Forest, Houston, Ohio State, Arkansas, Tennessee.
Fresh off his first career individual title, Shubham Jaglan continues to make history at USF. His season scoring average sits at 71, which would rank sixth in program history, if the season ended today. The all-time leader in eagles for the Bulls, Jaglan—along with his teammates—has a prime opportunity to compete against the nation's top golfers as the AAC Championships approach.
Junior Wilhelm Ryding has added incredible depth to the middle of the Bulls' lineup this spring with his back-to-back top-25 finishes at the Hayt Invitational (T13) and Linger Longer Invitational (T16). His 214 (70-76-68) at the Linger Longer Invitational serves as his career best 54-hole total.
The Bulls' leader, Jake Peacock, currently ranked No. 38 by Clippd, continues to add to his legacy at South Florida and will look to overtake some of the top golfers in America at the Valspar Collegiate. Peacock has not placed lower than 22nd this season and has been top-10 in four of six tournaments.
This is an exciting opportunity for the South Florida Bulls with postseason golf on the horizon. They are currently No. 31 in the country and can jump up in the rankings with a sound performance this week.
Coach Bradley's lineup for a pivotal Valspar Collegiate Invitational will consist of: Jake Peacock, Shubham Jaglan, Cooper Smith, Wilhelm Ryding, and Matthew Joseph.
