Box Score TAMPA (April 18)- No. 23 South Florida Men's tennis team (20-3) advance to the semifinals after taking a clinched win over Wichita State (12-13) on Friday. The Bulls are on a 11-match win streak and remain undefeated in conference play.
The Bulls dropped the doubles point early against the Shockers before coming out strong on the singles courts with all straight-set wins.
Elijah Cham took a quick win with straight sets on Court 3; 6-1, 6-1.
Ettore Danesi gave the Bulls the lead with a 6-2, 6-2 victory on Court 5.
Gughi Verdese followed shortly on Court 4 with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph.
Toto Llanes clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-2 win on Court 6. Courts 1 and 2 remained unfinished.
UP NEXT
The Bulls return to play on Saturday, April 19 at 11 AM Eastern time to compete in the semifinals. They will face the winner of a match between No. 4 Tulsa and No. 5 Rice. South Florida has yet to face Rice University this season and took a 5-2 win over Tulsa at home this season.
