TAMPA, Fla., May 2, 2025 –
Alanah Rivera led the University of South Florida softball team with three hits in the series opener against UTSA on Friday. The Bulls (39-14-1, 18-6-1) have produced back-to-back games with 11 or more runs with their 11-0 run rule against the Roadrunners (21-31, 6-19).
South Florida remains in second place behind Florida Atlantic, which plays a doubleheader tomorrow against Tulsa. In the sixth inning, East Carolina is currently leading North Texas, 7-3. If that result holds, USF would secure a No. 2 seed in the AAC Tournament.
Rivera was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with an RBI for the Bulls.
Alex Wilkes produced a 2-for-3 day at the plate with a game-high four RBIs. She scored twice and drew a walk.
Olivia Elliott recorded her 100th career hit with a 1-for-2 game. She drove in two RBIs.
Alexa Galligani has reached base safely in 19 straight games with two walks in today's contest.
Camille Ortiz-Martinez was hit by a pitch for the 15th time this season, which moved her into first place on the USF single-season list.
Payton Dixon was outstanding in the circle. She improved to 19-6 on the year in her 4.0 innings of work. She struck out two batters and gave up just one hit.
Anne Long tossed a scoreless inning in relief and allowed just one hit.
Wilkes drew a five-pitch walk with two outs in the top of the first inning. Foreman followed with a four-pitch walk, giving the Bulls runners on first and second. Rivera delivered an RBI double down the right field line as USF took a 1-0 lead into the second inning.
The Bulls exploded for a 10-run fourth inning. Galligani drew a four-pitch walk with the bases loaded for the inning's first run. Wilkes, the next batter, belted a three-run triple to left center.
Josie Foreman followed a double down the left field line. Karhys produced an RBI single through the right side.
Jamia Nelson drew a walk with the bases loaded. Elliott notched an RBI double to right field. Wilkes reached on a fielder's choice that drove in the 10th run of the inning.
Long closed out the game for the Bulls as USF went on to win 11-0 in five innings.
