CARLSBAD, Calif. (May 25, 2025) – The South Florida men's golf team's memorable season came to end Sunday at the NCAA National Championships hosted by the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, CA. The Bulls finished the tournament with an 897 (+33) landing them a 25th place finish among the nation's top-30 teams. While a 25th place finish may not have been the ending they hoped for, this serves as their third-best finish in program history. This was just their fifth trip to the biggest stage in collegiate golf.
South Florida's resilience got them to the National Championships. After losing the AAC Championship in a two-round playoff to Charlotte, the Bulls faced tremendous adversity in the Regionals. The team was two strokes out of a qualifying spot heading into round three of Regionals when they caught fire. The Bulls shot the low round of -10 in round three catapulting them into the top-five which punched their ticket to the big dance.
Wilhelm Ryding posted the low score of the week for the Bulls with a 221 (+5) which was good for a T71 finish.
Jake Peacock finished with a 223 (+7).
Shubham Jaglan carded a 227 (+11).
Nino Palmquist finished with a 229 (+13).
Cooper Smith finishes the tournament with a 230 (+14).
The Bulls will lose three seniors that gave everything they had into this program, in
Jake Peacock,
Shubham Jaglan and
Cooper Smith. With the postseason experience that players like
Wilhelm Ryding and
Nino Palmquist gained this season, the South Florida men's golf program is in good hands next season.
