USF Men’s Basketball to Face George Washington in 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off at Mohegan Sun

The Bulls Will Travel to Uncasville, Connecticut, For First Game Against GWU Since 2016

TAMPA, June 12, 2025 –The University of South Florida Men's Basketball team will take part in the 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced today. The Bulls are set to face George Washington on Saturday, Nov. 8, at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, as part of a marquee doubleheader showcasing four prominent programs.
 
Joining South Florida and George Washington in the field are Providence and Virginia Tech, who will square off in the other matchup. The event continues a long-standing tradition of early-season showdowns hosted by the Hall of Fame at one of the premier venues in the Northeast.

"This is a tremendous opportunity to showcase our program nationally, compete against top-tier talent, and proudly represent Bulls Nation. Tickets for the 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off will go on sale on Friday, September 5, via Ticketmaster, and will be available at the Mohegan Sun Arena Box Office beginning Saturday, September 6.

About USF Men's Basketball
Bryan Hodgson, 37, is South Florida's 12th men's basketball coach and has coached collegiately for 18 years. He came to Tampa from Arkansas State, where he spent two seasons as head coach. He guided the Red Wolves to two of the most successful seasons in program history, with back-to-back 20-win seasons. During the 2023-24 campaign, after inheriting a team that lost 20 games, he led Arkansas State's turnaround, which included its first postseason appearance since 1999. The Red Wolves also set program records for scoring (2,019) and field goals made (1,021). Hodgson was also named a finalist for the Joe B. Hall Award, given to the nation's top first-year head coach.
 
The Bulls play their home games at the 10,400-seat Yuengling Center, located on South Florida's Tampa campus.
