TAMPA, Fla. (August 8, 2025) – The University of South Florida's women's soccer Head Coach
Chris Brown elevated
Brock Duckworth to the role of Associate Head Coach ahead of the 2025 season. Duckworth, now in his third year with the Bulls, has been a driving force behind the program's continued success, both on the field and in recruiting.
"Brock has been an invaluable part of our staff since the day he arrived," said Coach Brown. "His ability to recruit top-tier talent, develop players, and contribute to our overall success makes him incredibly deserving of this promotion."
In 2024, Duckworth helped guide USF to a 12-2-5 overall record and a 6-1-3 mark in the American Athletic Conference, playing a pivotal role in shaping a roster featuring some of the best players in the world.
During his first season in Tampa, Duckworth worked primarily with the Bulls' goalkeepers, who posted a 10-6-2 record with 51 saves over 18 matches. His attention to detail and player development have been evident from day one.
Before joining USF, Duckworth spent two seasons at UTSA, where he helped lead the Roadrunners to back-to-back double-digit win seasons in 2021 and 2022. His leadership was instrumental in the program's 2022 Conference USA Championship and its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 12 years. In his first season in San Antonio, he helped UTSA achieve its highest winning percentage in school history and the second-most wins ever.
A dynamic recruiter and experienced coach, Duckworth arrived at UTSA following a four-year tenure at Florida Gulf Coast University (2018-21). During his time with FGCU, the Eagles posted a 31-11-6 record, claimed the 2019 Atlantic Sun Regular Season Championship, and developed multiple award-winning players — including two-time All-American and A-Sun Player of the Year Evdokia Popadinova and standout goalkeeper Melissa Weck, who posted a 0.77 goals-against average and one of the top save percentages in program history (.803).
His coaching resume also includes stints at East Carolina (2017), FIU (2016), Arkansas (2015), and Winthrop (2013-14), often serving as recruiting coordinator. Beyond the college game, he has been active in the youth soccer scene with Sporting Arkansas, North Carolina ODP, and Discoveries Soccer Club.
A native of Parker, Texas, Duckworth was a standout goalkeeper at UNC Wilmington, where he set the program record with a 1.07 goals-against average. He went on to play professionally in the USL with the Wilmington Hammerheads, Charleston Battery, and Charlotte Eagles, winning a USL Championship in 2012 and reaching the final again in 2013.
