TAMPA, Fla., September 12, 2025 – The University of South Florida (3-0-4, 1-0-0) secured a 1-0 victory over the University of Alabama at Birmingham (1-3-1, 0-1-0) at Corbett Soccer Stadium, with the winning goal coming in the second half.
The first half began with the Bulls applying early pressure, highlighted by
Fabio Bozesan taking two shots within the opening minutes. Keeper
Jahiem Wickham stood firm in net, notably saving a shot in the 18th minute. The half concluded knotted at zero.
The second half began with a burst of action from
Asher Jones, with an early shot just six seconds in. The Bulls maintained aggressive offense, and in the 63rd minute
Pedro Faife found the net with a header, assisted by
Mathis Haugen on a free kick.
Wickham was pivotal in securing the lead, making crucial saves, including a key stop in the 51st minute, which ensured a 1-0 victory for the Bulls and kept them undefeated.
