TAMPA, Fla., Sep. 18, 2025- The University of South Florida's Mens tennis team will be kicking off their 2025 fall season with the ITA All-American Championships. The tournament will be held from September 20-28 in Tulsa, Okla.
Hugo Car will be competing in the main draw, while Elijah Cham, Agustin Cuellar, Toto Llanes and Gughi Verdese are competing in the pre-qualifying draw. The Bulls added three players to their roster this year. James Newton; a senior transfer from Tennessee with a 4-1 record last season, Max Mroz; a sophomore transfer from Illinois who went 6-3 last season and Timeo Gaillard; a freshman.
The Bulls are returning all of their top singles players from last season. Starting with Hugo Car who was ranked No. 32 in the early ITA rankings and went 16-3 last season. Agustin Cuellar recorded a 16-2 record, Elijah Cham who went 16-5, Gughi Verdese, the 2025 AAC Freshman of the Year who went 18-6. As well as Toto Llanes who held a 14-7 record, Stepan Mruzek who went 9-6 and Ettore Danesi who went 6-6.
South Florida will compete in eight events this fall, including three ITA events. The fall will wrap up at the NCAA Fall Individual Championship in Orlando, Florida from November 18-23.

Head coach Ashley Fisher is in his 10th year at the helm of the program for the 2025-26 season. Fischer has guided the Bulls to five NCAA Tournaments, including three trips to the second round. He was named the American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2017 & 2019 after leading USF to the conference title in each of those seasons.
