OMAHA, Neb., Sep. 19, 2025 – The University of South Florida volleyball team delivered a gutsy road victory on Friday night, defeating Omaha in four hard-fought sets (25-22, 18-25, 30-28, 38-36) inside Baxter Arena.
The Bulls (4-5) opened strong, taking the first set 25-22 with kills from
Maria Clara Andrade and
Imani Hartfield sparking late momentum. Omaha responded in the second, evening the match at 1-1.
USF regained control in the third, edging the Mavericks 30-28 in a set that saw extended rallies and clutch points from
Raegan Richardson and
Addy Brus.
The Bulls sealed the victory with a dramatic fourth set, pushing past 35 points in an instant classic. Andrade tallied 11 kills in the frame alone, while Richardson and Hartfield came up with key plays at the net to hold off Omaha's late push. USF ultimately closed it out, 38-36, to earn the road win.
Notables
- Addy Brus produced her third double-double of the season with 16 kills and 15 digs.
- Maria Clara Andrade recorded 10+ kills for her sixth double-digit performance of the season. She matched a season-high with 23 kills.
- Raegan Richardson recorded her fifth multi-ace performance this season with three tonight.
- Imani Hartfield led the way with five blocks, bringing her season total to 24.
- South Florida earned its second straight road victory.

The Bulls will head across Omaha for the Creighton Classic on Saturday and Sunday. South Florida will face No. 18 Creighton on Saturday, before closing out the weekend on Sunday with a matinee match against No. 17 Kansas. Head coach Jolene Shepardson enters her sixth season at the helm of her alma mater in 2025. Named head coach on January 8, 2020, Shepardson led the Bulls to a conference championship and the program's last NCAA tournament appearance as a student-athlete in 2002. South Florida won the 2024 AAC regular-season title, earning Jolene Shepardson her first Coach of the Year Honor.
