OMAHA, Neb., Sep. 21, 2025 – The University of South Florida volleyball team showed grit and firepower in a four-set match against nationally-ranked No. 17 Kansas on Sunday at the Creighton Classic, ultimately falling 3-1 (26-28, 25-20, 25-23, 25-20).
The Bulls (4-7) stunned the Jayhawks (9-4) in the opening set, rallying late behind kills from Maria Clara Andrade and Addy Brus to take a 28-26 victory. USF's defense came alive as well, with Raegan Richardson and Imani Hartfield combining for key blocks to secure the set.
Kansas regrouped to edge the Bulls in the next three frames, but South Florida continued to push the nationally-ranked Jayhawks. Andrade once again led the attack with a team-high 21 kills and 14 digs for her ninth double-double of the season. Richardson was dynamic at the net with 11 kills, four blocks, and a .364 hitting percentage. Brus chipped in 15 kills and 16 digs, while Hartfield added 13 kills and four blocks.
Defensively, libero Samiha Foster paced the Bulls with 22 digs, while the team combined for 13 total blocks on the day.

Head coach Jolene Shepardson enters her sixth season at the helm of her alma mater in 2025.
