USF Opened Fall Slate with the ITA All-American Championships

South Florida sent five Bulls to Tulsa to represent the team.

TAMPA, (September 30, 2025)- The University of South Florida's Mens Tennis team opened up their fall slate by sending five players to the ITA All-American Championships hosted in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 20. 

The Bulls sent five players total, four to the prequalifying draw and one in the main draw. Agustin Cuellar lost 1-6, 3-6, Elijah Cham lost 1-6, 5-6, Gughi Verdese lost 6-7 (5-7), 2-5 in the prequalifying draw while Toto Llanes won first round 7-5, 4-6, 7-5 before falling short in the second round with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-7 (3-7). 

Hugo Car lost in the main draw 4-6, 4-6 before moving into the consolation rounds and falling short. Car was ranked No. 32 in the ITA rankings early on in the fall season.

The Bulls will travel to Orlando, Florida to compete in the UCF Invitational on October 3rd.

He was named the American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2017 & 2019 after leading USF to the conference title in each of those seasons.
